fernbrook stud

Fernbrook stud was established in the early 1980s by Neridah Raines and husband and wife team John and Kerry Stiphout. However their involvement with horses goes back to the 1960s when Kerry started at Jenko pony club and John at Bankstown pony club and Neridah as the proud mum supporting Kerry as well as showing her own horses..

John is a master farrier and master horseman. He has over 30 years experience in specialised shoeing, breaking and training horses and showing. Over the past five years, John has become especially interested in ground schooling horses as preparation for and an extension of their ridden careers.

Kerry has been riding since the age of four. She started out at Jenko pony club on her wonder pony Marty and quickly progressed into showing at Royal level. She is an accomplished show rider and has shown in many horses to Royal show champion level in many different breeds - Quarter Horse, Welsh ponies and Australian Stock Horses. She currently enjoys teaching people of all levels and specilaises in teaching children / teenagers and nervous adults.

For many years Neridah has been the backbone of Fernbrook Stud providing guidance, encouragement, preparation of the horses at the shows, truck driving and her famous curried egg sandwiches. A sore hip has kept her out of the saddle in recent years however, her advice is always sought after.

Fernbrook stud prides itself on producing top quality Australian Stock Horses who are well educated, versatile and top quality show horses.
